  • Supervisory Roles and Navigating ConflictTanya Vachal, Human Resources Director, Williston State
    • The differences people bring to the workplace can promote creativity, innovation, and solutions. However, those same differences can lead to a lack of agreement (discord) and, if left unresolved, to a full-blown argument (dispute). You can feel the effects of conflict on yourself as well as those around you—tension, stress, lower morale. If the situation continues, it can damage relationships, productivity, quality, and service.  Leaders are introduced to two resolution tactics—coach and mediate—and will recognize the role of emotional intelligence in success as a leader as they develop foundational leadership skills that apply to the wide range of workplace situations they must handle.
